Artaban

In fellowship you get to know one another.

Artaban, named after the fourth king, is the community room of the Maartenhuis, for anyone seeking fellowship.

Whether during annual festivals and concerts, whether at a lecture or a course.

The annual festivals, such as Christmas, Carnival, Easter, Ascension Day, Whitsun, the feasts of St. John, St. Michael and St. Martin, form an important aspect of the cultural life at the Maartenhuis and are widely celebrated.

Foundation stone proverb

In this place people set out
to heal life out of the warmth of their hearts.
We want to remember their endeavour
and make it our endeavour too,
thanking the elements that help
from the water surrounding us,
from salt and sand,
from light and heat.

Joined with the good spirits
who give us the strength to act,
from whom we take courage,
who guide us with wisdom,
we aim to build a community
and give our own lives direction.

May in her the wind of the Holy Spirit blow,
uniting what is divided.
May love work in her,
teaching us the language of the heart.
May good exist in her
now and in the future.
